Purchasing Assistant Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain general purchase orders and ensuring pricing and delivery dates are being met;
 - Follow up with suppliers on backorders and confirm estimated time of arrival;
 - Purchase office supplies, janitorial supplies and other consumables for various departments;
 - Support inventory closing every month with Cost Accounting and various reports as assigned by manager;
 - Update warehouse receiving log daily and review receiving documents to match with PO’s for processing;
 - Other duties as assigned;
 - Ensuring that the pharmacies product formulary is being followed;
 - Create, fulfill and submit pharmaceutical orders;
 - Facilities;
 - Review purchasing agreements with vendors and maintain open lines of communications with those vendors;
 - Ensure that systems are kept up to date with the most current procurement information;
 - Prepare reports to Management on freight costs both incoming and outgoing;
 - Order Entry and order maintenance;
 - Monitor goods throughout the purchasing process;
 - Develop an active process for measuring supply inventory and determining purchasing needs based on quarterly and annual numbers.
 
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, experience in food industry is preferred;
 - Able to work in a fast-pace environment and handle pressure well;
 - Good verbal and written communication skills;
 - Must be a good team player and fast learner;
 - Robust Excel knowledge and ability to create documents independently;
 - Healthcare Experience Required;
 - Active NH pharmacy technician license or willingness to get license required;
 - Experience as a Pharmacy purchaser and knowledge in supply chain management;
 - Strong oral and written communication skills;
 - Strong knowledge of plumbing products and supplies;
 - Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment;
 - Reliable;
 - Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
 - Experience with data entry and filing;
 - Five years related work experience in purchasing, inventory, or distribution.
