Our company is looking for a Sr. Payroll Analyst to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with school operations in a multi-unit environment and Human Resources to ensure timely, efficient resolution of issues;
  • Configure the pay rules and conditions within the union reporting for the various labor agreements;
  • Review and analyze the pay conditions of complex union/ labor agreements;
  • Communication and organizational skills;
  • Support all internal and external audits related to payroll;
  • Research and resolve issues brought forth by employees and/or managers relating to pay;
  • Develop, maintain, and manage frequent updates to multiple databases, spreadsheets, reports to support the functions of the payroll;
  • Three (3) years Payroll experience or five (5) years of Payroll related experience with supervision, and increasing Payroll related responsibilities;
  • Generation, maintenance, and running of ad – hoc and pre- established payroll reports;
  • Experience with web-based resources to research payroll issues;
  • Process off cycle payrolls, manual payments, and tax adjustments as needed;
  • Participation in the payroll processes, by ensuring updates to union fringe benefits and reporting are completed timely;
  • Build spreadsheets that include advance and interactive functions such as macros/pivot tables or other advanced formulas;
  • Build a thorough understanding of all available data sources and understands variances between these sources;
  • Design and update regression testing, expected results, as well as perform testing of rules and functionality for unions.

Requirements:

  • Excellent time-management, analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong appreciation for procedure, process and operational excellence;
  • 3-5 years of Payroll processing experience;
  • Experience in a rapidly growing and changing organization;
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of HRIS/Payroll systems and strong proficiency in Word and Excel;
  • Multi-unit/multi-state payroll experience;
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • BS in Business related degree;
  • Ability to keep several activities moving forward at the same time;
  • 4 years experience in analytical capacity;
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel & Access;
  • 4 years experience using PeopleSoft payroll;
  • Excellent organizational, communication and writing skills;
  • Knowledge of audit controls and procedures.
