Assembly Operator Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Assembly Operator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Take place of employees when absent, and perform various other duties;
- Assemble a wide variety of component parts, to build complete units, with on-line and off-line operations;
- Perform other related or similar duties as required;
- Apply, align, attach, insert, and fasten various commodities, components, parts, sub-assemblies, or units to chassis in required order and sequence;
- Report excessive continuation of defective parts, improper function, and assembling to proper authority;
- Participate in WCM activities;
- Make adjustments as necessary as unit progresses down assembly line;
- Various work stations require the ability and willingness to paint;
- Work from blueprints, man assignment sheets, systematic check-off list, engineering specifications, process sheets, and method sheets;
- Repair and adjust products to match changes to specifications and resolve assembly problems;
- Ensure that equipment is operational by handling preventative maintenance, performing regular quality checks, and calling for repairs when necessary;
- Identify any product defects; record and report them accordingly;
- Maintain a clean and safe work area;
- Monitor and maintain inventory of necessary product in your work station;
- Conduct quality assurance checks to confirm that assembled products meet specifications and quality standards.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree preferred, but not required;
- Reading comprehension skills with the ability to interpret and follow written directions, blueprints, and engineering diagrams;
- Minimum 3 months – 1 year of assembly of complex components in a private, public, government, or military environment;
- 1+ years of assembly experience;
- Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution;
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift 30-50 pounds;
- HS Diploma or GED;
- Must have 1-year press operator experience;
- Background check;
- Assemblers must be punctual; attendance is very important;
- Must possess the ability to work as a team;
- Drug Test;
- Press operators must be able to pass a press test to be considered for the press operator position;
- Must be open to scheduling an interview with the client before placement.
