Our company is looking for a PBX Operator to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Process paperwork as directed during off peak periods;
  • Accepts all messages for in house, expected arrival and function guests and ensures their efficient and timely distribution;
  • Report telephone related problems to Front Office Manager;
  • Uses private branch exchange (PBX) switchboard to connect interoffice and house calls;
  • Places welcome calls to guests;
  • Keeps record of requests placed by guests and ensures requests are completed;
  • Utilizes PBX and front office computer system;
  • Inputs wake up calls;
  • Relied upon to coordinate emergency communications to the fire and emergency response units;
  • Answers, screens, and routes outside and in-house calls, in an efficient manner, maintaining Service Standards;
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, along with demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Initiate the positive guest experience with the hotel;
  • Understand all hotel emergency procedures and coordinate communications during fire, health and elevator emergencies;
  • Ability to exercise sound logic and judgment in evaluating situations and utilizing appropriate resources;
  • Develop general hotel operational background to provide information to guests.

Requirements:

  • Ability to learn and operate the Nortel 2250 PBX Console;
  • Trained to operate Nortel 2250 PBX Console; or other business PBX Console. Basic knowledge of PBX operations;
  • Must be self-directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing;
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, along with demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work cohesively with a team;
  • Ability to occasionally work under pressure in stressful situations;
  • Basic knowledge of PBX operations;
  • Three to six months hospital PBX, or other business PBX experience or telephone company;
  • Must read, write, speak and communicate proficiently in American English;
  • Ability to exercise sound logic and judgment in evaluating situations and utilizing appropriate resources.
