Our company is looking for a Plant Operator to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Repairs;
  • Painting;
  • carpentry;
  • Security;
  • Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections;
  • Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required;
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of plant;
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance;
  • Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the plant;
  • Understand and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area;
  • Monitors PLC and computer control equipment;
  • Timely completion of all plant operator steps associated with computer training and hands-on training;
  • Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others;
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the plant;
  • Walking 25% of the time.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of plant and other heavy equipment;
  • Must be able to recognize upset conditions, determine cause, and then take corrective action;
  • Ability to solve basic math problems like calculating flow within piping systems, compute percentages, and determine tank volumes;
  • High school diploma or its equivalent resulting in demonstrated ability to perform major duties;
  • Understanding of computerized controls and electronics;
  • Must be able to use a computer;
  • Working knowledge of power plant or other industrial facility’s fundamentals and how industrial plant equipment relates to each system;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Knowledge of road construction materials, road construction processes and industry requirements;
  • Proven time management skills;
  • Good troubleshooting skills;
  • Knowledgeable of industry safety procedures and protocol;
  • Proven mechanical aptitude;
  • Must have an exceptional work ethic, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work in a self-directed team environment;
  • Must be willing to work rotating shifts.
