Senior Supplier Quality Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Performing or directing Source Inspection, process and system audits;
- Extensive data review on procured materials;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams;
- Drive culture of continuous improvement;
- Interacts with customers, suppliers, designers and others to assist in resolving design, development, production and acceptance issues;
- Analyzes and makes recommendations regarding product discrepancies;
- Provide analysis of data in support of quality and process improvements;
- Provide Program/Customer Quality Engineering Support;
- Development and control of Inspection and Test Plans, Source checklists, Statements of Work, and a variety of purchase order attachments;
- Drive changes to processes and Design Engineering regarding issues impacting product integrity;
- 25 to 50% travel may be required;
- May direct the quality review, planning, auditing and work activity for a broad base of procurement functions;
- Evaluates opportunities for defect prevention and implements specific and preventative corrective actions;
- Cultivates a wide range of internal networks and develops an extensive network of resources to facilitate completion of tasks.
Requirements:
- BS degree with minimum 5 years related experience;
- Experience in working with mechanical or electrical component suppliers;
- MS degree with minimum 4 years related experience;
- BS degree in engineering or technical field with minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
- Experience in process validation, design controls, risk management, and CAPA;
- Strong command of MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio;
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering;
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering;
- Project management: ability to influence cross functional global teams spanning quality, operations, R&D, and sourcing;
- ASQ certification (CQE, SSGB, SSBB) strongly desired;
- Experience in medical device, automotive, aeronautical, semiconductor, or other regulated industry;
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
- Experience in conducting supplier audits;
- Experience with Packaging, Sterilization Validation, Calibration and Analytical Labs;
- Manufacturing Process Controls expertise.
