General Warehouse Associate Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a General Warehouse Associate to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Ticket clothing, accessories, and other items;
- Match receipts against purchase orders;
- Manual lifting and handling of objects such as totes, boxes, or garments;
- Count, select and sort items by style, color, store order or other criteria;
- Load and unload merchandise from trailers;
- Pack or unpack merchandise in and out of boxes;
- Assist in other tasks as directed by management;
- Prepare orders for transit to prevent damage;
- Restock bin shelves;
- Locate and select appropriate products to complete a customer orders;
- Sort and identify products to be moved to designated areas;
- Loading and unloading trailers;
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and exhibit safe work practices at all times;
- Identify damaged products and escalate to appropriate personnel;
- Receive and verify goods against Purchase Orders.
Requirements:
- Knowledgeable in basic computer word processing, spreadsheet and Email management;
- Should possess time management skills and be able to meet targets;
- Experience in operating basic warehouse equipment;
- Be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and work in both a hot and cold warehouse environment;
- Should have the ability to work in a team;
- Will be loading and unloading semi trailers;
- General Warehouse duties as needed;
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers;
- Must work with safety in mind at all times and adhere to FDA, OSHA, ANSI and company safety standards and policies;
- Must be able to work independently and within a team;
- Use available technology and tools (i.e. RF Scanner, Computer applications, etc.) to be proficient in facility processes;
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend and reach;
- Efficiently and accurately troubleshoot problems and escalate appropriately;
- Perform departmental functions to meet overall productivity metrics for the facility;
- Efficiently and accurately receive, select, prepare and ship orders based on customer specifications.
