CDL B Driver Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a CDL B Driver to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Loads truck with packed orders, sorting and organizing merchandise so that it can be easily located on trucks;
- Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations and company policy;
- Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers in accordance with applicable departmental procedures;
- Actively participate in the Company’s ReSOP program;
- Communicate with branch dispatcher and/or supervisor if issues arise;
- Performs daily pre and post trip of vehicle;
- Drives truck to destination. Prepares receipts for load picked up;
- Loading and unloading trucks;
- Performs other related duties as assigned;
- Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions;
- Performs pre-trip inspections of vehicle, equipment, paperwork and loaded product;
- Follow all required safety policies and procedures;
- Delivers all orders (materials, tool repairs, rental products) to customers in a timely and courteous manner;
- Performs all work adhering to OSHA and Company Safety policy;
- Responsible to tarp all loads when traveling on public roadways.
Requirements:
- Observe and follow safety procedures and DOT regulations;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Must pass drug screen;
- Must have customer service mindset when dealing with internal and external customers;
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to prioritize work and perform multiple tasks;
- Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement;
- Must pass background check;
- High school diploma or equivalent. Must be 21 years of age;
- Can lift 50+ lbs;
- Familiarity with scanning equipment preferred;
- Excellent communication skills including speaking, reading and writing in the English language;
- 21+ years old;
- Clean driving record in good standing, free of any moving violations;
- Minimum one year of prior commercial driving experience.
