Detail Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Detail Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Applies wax to auto body, and wipes or buffs surface;
- Coordinate and arrange work effectively with team members;
- Vacuum interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris;
- Cleans upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices;
- Directly report any damage to the supervising manager in a clear and timely fashion;
- Inspects vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery, and poor mechanical operation;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Restores appearance of engine area, rugs and upholstery, and painted surfaces. Uses touch-up paint, dyes, and other appropriate materials;
- Understand and deliver on specific customer requirements;
- Maintain excellent standards and quality of service to positively represent the organization;
- Maintain proper function of all service tools and equipment;
- Inspect finished products to ensure the highest quality service;
- Applies revitalizes and preservation agents to interior vinyl or leather surfaces and treats fabrics with spot- and stain-resistant chemicals;
- Cleans engine and engine compartment with steam-cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents.
Requirements:
- Ability to work alone, self motivate and manage one’s own time;

- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form;
- Ability to multitask;

- Organized and extremely detail-oriented;
- Ability to read, speak and understand English;
- H.S. Diploma/Equivalent;

- Excellent communication and customer service skills;
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record;
