Position Summary The Medical Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting clinicians and ensuring efficient daily operations. This position requires full-time availability and may include some weekend shifts as needed. Medical Assistants at CloseKnit perform a blend of clinical and administrative duties, working closely with providers and staff to deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality patient care.

Based on business needs, Medical Assistants may be required to work at multiple clinical locations.

Flexibility is essential to support coverage needs and ensure continuity of patient care across practices.

Work hours may include evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays based on patient needs.

Core Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities Assist providers with exams, diagnostic testing, and in-office procedures.

Perform venipuncture and collect lab specimens (blood, urine, POC testing, etc.).

Operate medical equipment such as EKG machines and other diagnostic tools.

Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and conduct basic lab procedures.

Educate patients on treatment plans, follow-up care, and self-care instructions.

Maintain clean, stocked, and properly sanitized exam rooms.

Support quality initiatives, including PCMH-related tasks and clinical KPI adherence.

Administrative Responsibilities Greet and register patients with a professional, friendly demeanor.

Maintain and update patient information in the electronic health record (EHR).

Schedule and reschedule patient appointments, including physicals and chronic care visits.

Process prior authorizations, referrals, and daily patient callbacks.

Manage inventory, medical supplies, and perform daily opening and closing procedures.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and OSHA.

Communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing.

Technical & Operational Expertise Proficiency in EHR systems and medical software.

Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment or software issues.

Provide basic technical guidance to team members regarding medical equipment or EHR workflows.

Professional Expectations Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold ethical and legal standards.

Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED.

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.

2+ years of Medical Assistant experience.

Competency in: Clinical intake and patient data collection.

Lab specimen collection (including venipuncture).

Point-of-care testing.

EKG testing.

Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of customer service experience.

Experience in primary care, internal medicine, immediate care, or emergency care.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge of population health initiatives.

Understanding HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
