Head Of Finance-USLocation: Louisville, KYReports To: Group Finance DirectorPosition OverviewThe Director of Accounting & Finance is responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and core financial processes and will report to the Group Finance Director who sits overseas in Europe. This role plays a critical leadership function in driving accurate and timely month-end close, managing cash flow forecasting, supporting strategic financial planning, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.The position partners cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and executive leadership to provide financial visibility into project performance, capital expenditures, and business performance.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Close & Reporting:- Lead and manage the monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations- Oversee Blackline reconciliations and system uploads- Produce monthly financial statements and reporting packages with narrative analysis- Present financial results to leadership and participate in monthly review meetingsForecasting, Cash Flow & FP&A:- Own the 13-week cash flow forecast and ongoing liquidity analysis- Support monthly rolling forecasts and budget updates- Analyze variances between actuals, forecast, and budget- Provide actionable financial insights and recommendationsCompliance, Tax & Regulatory Reporting:- Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements- Oversee preparation and filing of returns and reports- Manage relationships with external advisors and auditorsProject & Capital Accounting:- Partner with engineering and operations to track CAPEX and project budgets- Monitor project costs and timelines- Manage asset capitalization processesProcess Improvement & Systems:- Identify and implement process improvements- Drive automation and efficiency in financial systemsLeadership & Collaboration:- Provide oversight and guidance to accounting staff- Serve as a key finance partner to operations and leadershipQualificationsEducation & Experience:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field- CPA preferred- MBA a plus- 8–12+ years of experience in accounting/financeTechnical Skills:- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting- ERP and financial systems experience with tools such as D365- Advanced Excel skills, power BI a plusCore Competencies:- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills- Attention to detail- Excellent communication and leadership abilitiesPreferred Experience:- Experience with tax credits and incentives- Project or capital accounting experience- Multi-entity or international exposure
