Channel 5 is looking for a Media Solutions Engineer to design and protect the broadcast and streaming workflows that power our linear, VOD, FAST and OTT platforms. This is a hands-on architecture and subject matter expert role, sitting at the intersection of engineering, compliance and revenue protection — you'll shape how content, metadata and monetisation systems work together across the business.
Design end-to-end solutions across linear broadcast, VOD, FAST, OTT and metadata workflows, keeping streaming and linear platforms consistent
Document technical architectures for playout, MAM, scheduling, ad-tech and compliance systems
Act as senior subject matter expert on linear and VOD broadcasting, advising on system behaviour, integration constraints and risk
Provide specialist 3rd-line support during incidents affecting revenue, ad-tech performance or contractual obligations
Diagnose issues affecting ad classification, insertion, platform matching and monetisation
Partner with operations, ad-sales and technology teams to find inefficiencies and design improvements
Significant experience as a linear broadcasting subject matter expert, ideally across global and public service broadcaster environments, with deep knowledge of Broadcast Management Systems and complex content/metadata workflows

• Solid understanding of PSB constraints and regulatory obligations, with the ability to protect revenue-critical workflows
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to flex your style across audiences
• Experience with broadcast management applications (e.g. Experience defining cross-platform workflows that treat streaming and linear equally

Strong documentation skills — architecture diagrams, impact assessments, technical writing
