This role is responsible for procuring furniture, accessories, and related materials to ensure projects are executed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with quality standards, budgets, and timelines.The Purchasing Agent works closely with Project Managers, Designers, warehouse teams, and vendor partners to manage the purchasing process from order placement through delivery, ensuring seamless coordination and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement ExecutionPrepare, review, and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policies and project schedulesMonitor order status, track shipments, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely deliveryProactively resolve delays, backorders, and supply issues to minimize project disruptionsInventory CoordinationCollaborate with Project Managers to align purchasing activities with project timelinesAssist in resolving discrepancies related to shipments, invoices, damages, and product qualitySupport inventory accuracy and control initiatives to maintain operational efficiencyBudget CompliancePartner with Project Managers and Designers to ensure purchases align with approved project budgetsTrack and monitor purchasing costs to support financial accuracy and reportingIdentify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and design intentDocumentation and SystemsMaintain accurate purchasing records within ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business CentralEnsure compliance with procurement policies and proceduresGenerate and maintain reports related to purchasing activity, vendor performance, and cost trackingVendor ManagementIdentify, evaluate, and build relationships with suppliers of furniture, accessories, and décorNegotiate pricing, lead times, and terms to ensure the best value and serviceMaintain ongoing communication with vendors to ensure performance standards and delivery expectations are metQualifications, Skills, and ExperienceTwo or more years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience, preferably within residential, hospitality, or home furnishings environmentsStrong negotiation, vendor management, and relationship-building skillsExperience working with ERP systems, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing softwareExcellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilityAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsBachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred
