Construction Estimator – Commercial Landscape

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to support large-scale commercial landscape projects, including work valued at $1M+. This role is responsible for preparing accurate estimates, performing quantity takeoffs, reviewing project scope, and developing competitive bids. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in commercial landscape or site development construction.

Responsibilities Prepare accurate estimates and bid packages for commercial landscape construction projects.

Perform quantity takeoffs, scope reviews, and cost analyses.

Solicit, review, and compare vendor and subcontractor pricing.

Identify scope gaps, risks, and cost impacts during the bidding process.

Interpret landscape, civil, and construction plans and specifications.

Coordinate with project managers, operations, and procurement teams during preconstruction.

Document assumptions, inclusions, exclusions, and pricing for project handoff.

Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to clarify scope and pricing.

Qualifications 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial landscape construction, site development, or related construction fields.

Experience estimating projects valued at $1M+.

Strong knowledge of quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and bid preparation.

Ability to read and interpret civil, landscape, and construction drawings.

Experience obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and vendor quotes.

Proficiency with estimating software such as PlanSwift or similar platforms.

Preferred Qualifications Experience in commercial land development projects.

Familiarity with bid management platforms and digital bidding processes.

Experience working with union contractors or union construction environments.

Work Environment This position is a combination of office and field work. Standard hours are Monday through Friday with a 7:00 AM start time. Occasional site visits are required to support estimating and project planning activities.

Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Saint Paul, MN.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
