Job Description:

• Shift: Days, 7 AM - 7 PM
• Start Date: ASAP
• Weekend Requirement: Yes, 2 to 4 shifts per month (rotated between staff)
• On Call Requirement: Yes, 2 to 4 shifts per month (rotated between staff)
• Floating Requirement: Will float to all Med/Surg departments
• Nurse/Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• EMR Used: EPIC
• Dress Code: Grey Scrubs

Summary:

• Be a competent nurse practicing independently in a clinical setting.
• Provide routine and complex care while managing contingencies of clinical nursing.
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to ensure optimal patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Meet expectations of the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.

Job Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
• Experience: 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
• Licenses/Certifications: BLS required; RN License in the state of employment or compact
