Position Summary
Reporting to the CLS Lead, the Clinical Laboratory Scientist is a Licensed Medical Technologist whose primary responsibility is to perform laboratory testing on patient samples. The CLS performs the pre‑analytical, analytical and post‑analytical testing and is responsible for quality control, equipment maintenance, and all reporting and documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Process samples and perform required specimen transport, accessioning and pre‑analytical processing.
Perform all laboratory testing phases according to standard operating procedures, solving problems with minimal supervision.
Maintain quality control by establishing, reviewing, and approving QC procedures prior to patient sample testing.
Manage equipment maintenance based on bench assignment within specified timeframes, keeping accurate logs.
Troubleshoot instruments, perform service repairs, and ensure timely instrument functionality.
Document instrument usage and supplies, perform parallel testing as required.
Order, label, and store supplies, demonstrating inventory self‑direction.
Maintain an organized and clean work environment.
Position Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
1 year clinical laboratory experience and CA Clinical Laboratory Scientist License.
One year of clinical laboratory experience, including internship, may be considered.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; proficient with computers.
Pay and Benefits
Hourly pay rate: $47.56-$73.72, depending on experience.
