RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Litigation and Patient Care Services Paralegal to join our Legal Affairs team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal support to the AVP & Senior Counsel, Litigation and Patient Care Services and Associate Counsel, Litigation & Patient Care Services, focusing on guardianships, subpoenas, and board matters. Coordinate critical clinical-legal workflows, draft legal documents, and act as a liaison between healthcare providers, social workers, court systems, and internal legal counsel. This role is critical in supporting a high-volume, fast-paced environment within one of New Jersey's largest nonprofit healthcare systems, serving a diverse network of hospitals, medical groups, and affiliates.

Draft pleadings: Prepare guardianship petitions, notices, and other legal documents.

Review documents and respond to Subpoenas for documents and information, including redacting documents.

Gather evidence and draft responses for state licensing board inquiries.

Legal Research: Perform legal research as needed.

Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program required.

Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in a law firm, preferably with guardianship and/or personal injury experience.

Experience with drafting pleadings to be submitted to the court and reviewing medical records.

gh proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. xperience with document management systems e.g., bility to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.

Experience working in litigation and/or working in a law firm environment.

Exposure to personal injury and/or guardianships.

Working knowledge of AI-enabled legal tools or experience in and/or interest in supporting digital innovation in legal workflows.
