Must-Have:
***Will need to pass Relias EKG exam. Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias required***
Med/Surg experience, Blood Product Administration, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Phlebotomy, Starting IVs, Insulin management, PCA management, knowledge of spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury, orthopedic trauma, peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacements, surgical drains, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tank, isolation precautions, wound care, wound vac, level 1 trauma experience required.
Description:
Provide nursing care in a medical surgical unit with a focus on trauma patients.
Work with patients exhibiting a variety of conditions including abuse/violence victims, motor vehicle accidents, and falls.
Cater to acute care surgical needs such as appendicitis, gallbladder issues, hernia repairs, fistulas, wounds, and burns.
Specialize in caring for geriatric trauma patients aged 55 and older.
Utilize interdisciplinary support from physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy.
Collaborate with rapid response teams to ensure patient safety and effective care delivery.
Manage patient care involving acute care situations and complex medical needs.
Ensure adherence to best practices for patient safety and quality of care.
Participate in flexible scheduling including every other weekend.
Support both day and night shift coverage as required.
