Head of Supply Chain and Procurement

Job Summary:The Manager, Procurement will be responsible for development and execution of purchasing strategy for Indirect Materials and ensuring optimal supplier performance. This individual will lead and manage a team of Buyers located in New Jersey and Massachusetts to deliver on business objectives. This role will develop and implement procedures to ensure the team is operating in line with business needs to add value, mitigate supply chain risk and deliver cost savings. This leader will work alongside the senior management team in contributing to overall business strategies and goals.Duties and responsibilities• Develop and communicate a procurement business plan; establish, communicate and implement long term goals for the department in order to promote effectiveness and efficiency.• Manage to ensure all material requirements are delivered on time in right quantity and the best quality.• Manage current procurement policies, procedures and programs with a focus on their ability to enhance organizational value and efficiency;• Communicate with Planning, Inventory Control, Quality Control and Warehouse of any updates regarding delivery, urgent needs.• Manage activities to enhance policies and procedures by meeting with all other departments• Monitoring, reviewing and analyzing bids and quotes with suppliers to make effective decisions.• Maintaining company budget and streamlining costs, Develop a centralized procurement program that adds value and efficiency to the organization;• Develop, communicate and administer procurement team performance and development plans.• Implement procurement-related Supply agreements and Service contracts• Conduct business review meetings with key stakeholders to assess risk, review future strategies, and identify potential cost reduction and improvement opportunities.• Collaborate with Vendor Management team to qualify and certify vendors• Support Compliance team with all vendor related investigations• Identify areas for continuous improvement to drive performance and business results.• Maintain strong working relationships with strategic suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.• Manage recruiting, training and supervising a team of procurement managers who are responsible for day-to-day category management activities.• Oversee the development and execution of sourcing strategies across all categories within span of control including targets, timelines and resource plans.• Excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing skills analytical and problem-solving abilities• Commercially and financially astute with experience of managing budgets• Other duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor’s in related field requiredMinimum 10 years related experience in a Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferredMinimum 4+ years managerial experienceKnowledge Skills and AbilitiesExhibits strong judgment to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workloadStrong ability to anticipate and plan for needs of production and other departmentsStrong attention to detail and applies consistent, effective follow-up skills on multiple projectsStrong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to work with all levels of employees and effectively manage vendor relationsAbility to communicate and work effectively in a team-based environmentGood negotiation skillsStrong computer skills and proficient in the use of MS word, Excel, SAPOrganized, motivated, disciplined and results-orientedAdditional Requirements5 days per week in-officeUp to 25% travelThe presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $95,000 to $105,500. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. In addition, this position is part of the Annual Performance Bonus Plan.
