Patient Registrar / Patient Registration Representative I
Location: Los Angeles, CA (90017) Duration: 16 Weeks Contract Shift: Day Shift (8:30 AM 5:00 PM), weekends required
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Patient Registration Representative to support front-end patient access functions including registration, pre-registration, insurance verification, and patient financial responsibility collection. This role ensures a smooth and efficient intake process while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies.
Key Responsibilities
Perform patient registration and pre-registration for outpatient and inpatient services
Verify insurance eligibility, benefit, and obtain authorizations
Collect copays, coinsurance, and deductibles
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
Provide customer service to patients, families, and providers
Handle high-volume registrations (2030+ per shift)
Coordinate with internal teams and eligibility vendors
Required Skills & Experience

• 1+ year experience in medical office, hospital, or healthcare setting
• Strong knowledge of insurance verification and medical billing
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Typing speed of 45+ WPM
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and navigating multiple systems
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance
