This role will work closely with R&D, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teams to ensure new products are electrically robust, manufacturable, testable, and ready for high-volume production.The ideal candidate has strong electrical engineering fundamentals, hands-on troubleshooting skills, and experience taking products from prototype through production. You will play a key role in resolving design and manufacturing issues, improving product reliability, and establishing processes that enable a smooth transition into manufacturing.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport electrical aspects of new product introduction from prototype builds through production release and ramp.Collaborate with design engineering teams to review schematics, PCB layouts, electrical architectures, and component selections for manufacturability and reliability.Develop and maintain electrical test strategies, manufacturing test procedures, and test fixtures for production.Support prototype, engineering, pilot, and production builds; identify and resolve electrical issues quickly.Troubleshoot hardware, PCB assemblies, power systems, sensors, wiring, communication interfaces, and other electrical systems.Lead root-cause analysis of electrical failures and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.Work with contract manufacturers and suppliers to resolve component, assembly, and production issues.Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including schematics, BOMs, test specifications, work instructions, and engineering change orders.Participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), and Design for Reliability (DFR) reviews.Support electrical validation, verification, qualification, and production testing.Analyze manufacturing and test data to identify trends, improve yields, and reduce defects.Assist with component selection, qualification, and alternate-source evaluation.Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and electrical performance.Support engineering change management and ensure electrical changes are properly documented and communicated.Travel periodically to manufacturing sites or suppliers as needed.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.3+ years of experience in electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, NPI, product development, or a related discipline.Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics, power distribution, and electrical troubleshooting.Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and engineering drawings.Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and electronic loads.Experience troubleshooting hardware and electrical systems at the board and system level.Strong problem-solving and root-cause-analysis skills.Ability to work effectively across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Preferred QualificationsExperience taking products from prototype through NPI, pilot production, and high-volume manufacturing.Experience with PCB assembly and electronics manufacturing processes, including SMT and through-hole assembly.Familiarity with DFM/DFT principles and manufacturing test development.Experience developing or debugging automated electrical test systems.Familiarity with tools such as Altium, Cadence, OrCAD, LTspice, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar engineering software.Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, sensors, power electronics, or high-speed digital interfaces.Familiarity with PLM, ERP, and manufacturing systems.Experience working with contract manufacturers and offshore manufacturing partners.Knowledge of quality methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, SPC, Six Sigma, and CAPA.Experience with engineering change orders (ECOs) and configuration management.Key Success MetricsSuccessfully transition new electrical designs into production.Improve first-pass yield and reduce electrical manufacturing defects.Identify and resolve production issues efficiently.Establish robust and repeatable electrical test processes.Reduce NPI build issues and production escapes.Improve product manufacturability, reliability, and quality.Deliver NPI milestones on schedule.Core CompetenciesElectrical engineering fundamentalsHardware troubleshooting and debuggingNew Product Introduction (NPI)Design for Manufacturing (DFM)Design for Test (DFT)Root-cause analysisManufacturing testCross-functional collaborationSupplier and contract manufacturer managementData-driven problem solvingDocumentation and change managementHands-on engineeringPhysical Demands and Working ConditionsWork Environment:This is a hands-on engineering role requiring regular interaction with prototype and production hardware.
