Must-Have:
Ability to float within region as needed.
General Med/Tele skillset including stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, and drain/tube management.
Experience with medication management including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IV fluids.
Description:
The position is for a Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN.
This role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients.
Common diagnoses include COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF exacerbation, falls with injuries, motor vehicle collisions with injuries, pulmonary embolism, DVT, UTI, pneumothorax, GI bleeds, and CVA.
Patient ratios vary by unit but typically range from 1:4 to 1:6.
Support is provided by certified nursing assistants who assist with vitals, hygiene care, rounding, and patient needs.
A secretary is available for administrative support.
Resource nurses and hospitalists are present to assist with patient care.
Telemetry monitoring is conducted by nursing staff, who are responsible for interpreting telemetry data each shift.
Float requirements to other facilities may occur based on regional needs.
A weekend rotation is required, and travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays.
Up to six days off may be approved, excluding holidays.
