Systems Engineering Undergraduate Intern

The Leonardo DRS Land Systems business is a recognized leader in the design and integration of complex technologies into new and legacy systems and platforms for global military and commercial customers. Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking multiple Summer Systems Engineer Interns for our Bridgeton, MO facility. These interns will help our systems engineering (SE) team meet the technical performance requirements on complex system development programs and to execute an interdisciplinary process to ensure that the customer and stakeholder needs and requirements are satisfied in a high quality, trustworthy, cost efficient, and schedule compliant manner. The purpose of the internship is to provide meaningful professional hands‑on experience to students with proven academic performance and leadership potential. Students will also get to utilize our companies flexible work schedule.

Work under the direction of the SE managers, SE technical director, and lead systems engineers on various systems engineering activities

May use Matlab and/or Simulink software in the performance of assignments

Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments

Gather and assemble data for engineers

May be required to help perform research in a particular field

Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers

Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel

High School Diploma or GED, and currently a Junior or above in a Bachelor’s program in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent

Basic knowledge and familiarity with the use of Matlab and/or Simulink, deesired

Proficient use of Microsoft Office products, desired
