Echo Cardiac Ultrasound Sonographer

Cardiac SonographerThe cardiac sonographer performs routine and complex echocardiography. Prepares and positions patient for echocardiography exam and explains procedure. Operates cardiac ultrasound, doppler and similar equipment to perform procedures according to physician's directive. Observes the screen during the scan to ensure a satisfactory image for diagnostic purposes making adjustments as required.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Performs routine and complex echocardiographyPrepares patients for procedures, explains procedures to patientsReports changes in patient condition to medical staffProvides an oral and written summary of preliminary findings to the radiologistEvaluates quality of sonograms and determines if additional sonograms or ultrasound procedures are indicatedHandles documentation of procedures as indicated by standard and facility protocolCollaborates in quality control of equipment, filming and obtains service as requiredProficient in the performance of ultrasound proceduresEnsures correct charging of ultrasound procedures and supplies on a daily basisOther duties as assignedMinimum Requirements:A certification from an accredited ultrasound/sonography schoolOne year of experience as an ultrasound technician/sonographer preferredExcellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency in the English language is requiredCurrent BLS cardCurrent TB test or chest x-rayCurrent physical exam per state or contract requirementsSuccessful completion of Amergis Healthcare Staffing testing processSuccessful completion of background screening and hiring processBenefits At Amergis:Competitive pay & weekly paychecksHealth, dental, vision, and life insurance401(k) savings planAwards and recognition programs
