Primary duties of the Front Desk Assistant include greeting prospective students, families, and guests; answering the front desk phone, and general tasks associated with the Honors College front desk. Computer skills preferred for Word, Excel, ability to make name tags, ability to use Outlook schedule. Good telephone skills, answering questions, knowing how to transfer, take messages and retrieve voice mail are all a must. Student staff should be informed of other Honors Colleges' requirements and their Deans, and be willing to be a contributor and take initiative. Students should be prepared to occasionally work events. Additionally, front desk hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays. Student staff should be prepared to arrive at the Honors College and open at 8 a.m. Educational equivalency of a High School Diploma
