Location: Chaska, MN (On-Site Mon-Friday)Overview: The Machinist position is responsible for the set-up and operation of various types of conventional and CNC machine shop equipment inclusive of, but not limited to, manual lathes, manual mills, CNC machining centers, Cylindrical Grinders, etc. Additionally, they will advise on equipment selection, set-up/operation, and maintenance. The incumbent must be an individual who can multi-task and perform various machine shop related activities, in a manner that complies with all company requirements with little supervision.Manufacture production and tooling parts using a variety of tools, equipment, and materials as requiredSet-up and operate machine shop equipment in an effective, efficient, safe and consistent mannerEffectively perform component/material inspections utilizing the appropriate measuring equipment/instruments. Provide guidance on in-process/final inspection requirements, methods, and tools.Competent in measuring parts using precision measuring equipment such as Calipers, Micrometers, Depth gages, Vision Systems, etc.Interpret various types of graphs and data used in problem solving, SPC, monitoring of performance metrics, etc.Coordinate, execute, document, and bring to closure machine shop related activities, through effective interaction with other departments within the organizationGenerate work instructions, set up sheets, programs, etc. for machining activitiesRead, interpret, and advise about manufacturability on documents (i.e. blueprints/technical drawings, tolerances, GD&T, operation/tool/set-up sheets, routers, procedures, ECN's, etc.) in an effective manner to produce conforming product on a timely basisSet-up and operate various types of CNC and manual machine shop equipment in an effective, efficient, safe and consistent manner to support customer requirements, with little to no supervisionReview documentation and verify methods, procedures, equipment and tooling can produce conforming product in a safe and efficient mannerTrain and mentor others how to perform machining processes for production productsCommunicate issues w/recommendations to the appropriate personnel.Define and perform routine maintenance of equipment.Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to all regulatory and internal system requirements.and support actions to drive company initiatives/goalsLead the training of personnel to perform required technical tasks in the machining disciplineConsistently demonstrate commitment to company valuesKeep management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.Ensure that work area and equipment is clean, secure, and well maintained.Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shop environment, including, but not limited to: fluids, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise and vibrationThis job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment.Overtime and weekend work will be required, as job duties demand.No travel is expected for this positionPhysical Requirements:The employee is regularly required to stand at length (7-8 hours, daily), sit, walk, stoop, bend, turn, balance, and/or crouch, and move about the facility.Pay Range: $25 - $33 per hourThis position is at our Chaska, MN office location
