With proven experience in virtually all workable alloys, Spincraft components and assemblies can be found in today's most advanced space launch vehicles, commercial and military aircraft, nuclear submarines, critical defense systems, land-based gas turbines and more.Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Inspector is responsible for inspecting raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet specified standards and meet customer requirements. This role uses a variety of inspection tools and techniques to identify defects and document results, supporting continuous quality improvement in the manufacturing process. Schedule: 2nd Shift 3:30PM-12:00AM with shift differential. Training on 1st shift Technical JobResponsibilities:Review job routing, quality log requirements, and interpret sketches to determine dimensions and tolerance specifications for features requiring inspectionPerform independent inspections, validations, and/or verifications of assigned items to ensure compliance and documentation of nonconforming materialInspect product for surface defects, such as scratches, dents, cracks, workmanship, and weld qualityPerform inspections of simple GD&T hardware using a variety of common inspection tools which may include various micrometers, bore gages, depth gauges, dial indicators, drop indicators, height gauges, etc.Use basic GD&T concepts such as Straightness, Flatness, Circularity, Cylindricity, Perpendicularity, and Parallelism as neededUse a variety of common inspection tools (OD&ID micrometers, calipers, pi tapes, thread gages, point mics, profilometers) to verify sketch/print dimensions of componentsRead and interpret work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine machine setup, type of material or part, quantity, and finish dimensionsPerform standard operations for established programs on the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), FARO Arm, and scanning equipmentReceive inspection of product, hardware, or raw material to ensure PO requirements are metLoad and unload parts into inspection gauges to verify and document conformanceMay be asked to perform higher level inspections while under supervisionMay trim, sand, and drill parts, using shop equipmentPerform daily/weekly operator maintenance on equipment/tools (oil, clean, and inspection)Accurately execute PCS (Process Control Sheets) and provide feedback when revisions are neededAssist Engineering with the implementation, creation, and maintenance of PCSDocument actions by completing production and quality logs as neededAccomplish organization goals by actively exploring opportunities to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. (SQDC)Train others by openly sharing information, knowledge, and expertise with the teamComplete job assignments as directed by Quality or Manufacturing ManagerAttend meetings, trainings, and participate in audits as directedSafety:Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulationsComply with all company rules including company safety policy and all federal, state, local, and other safety regulations and practicesUse personal protective equipment and devices provided for machinery, equipment, tools and processes, when defined in PCS, Company Safety Policy, Job Safety Analysis or Management directionReport all unsafe conditions, accidents and injuries immediately to managementHousekeeping:Actively participate in 6S and lean activities as outlined by the CompanyMaintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following Company instructionsMaintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needsStore and maintain tools, equipment and gauges as defined by company standardsKeep work area clean and organized to company standards/expectationsDaily cleaning and sweeping of work area, tools and equipmentEmpty trash and waste as neededPersonal items removed from workstationsWhat You'll Bring:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is requiredMinimum 3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Forklift experience is preferredCertified Level I and Level II nondestructive testing preferredDemonstrate working knowledge with reading and understanding blueprint requirements, and ability to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)Reliable transportationStrong interpersonal and problem-solving skillsAbility to effectively manage time, multi-task, and pay close attention to detailsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamCapable of following directionsTake responsibility for achieving production efficiency, quality of product and reports discrepant material immediatelyDemonstrate customer focus by seeking out, understanding, and responding to the needs of both internal and external customersMaintain a positive attitude and communicate openly and honestly with othersSolve problems proactively and contributes to continuously improving the process/productAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.
