Welder (Production)

Line LeadThe Line Lead is responsible for increasing operational efficiency, company profitability and customer satisfaction by setting up and operating a production line from raw material to finished product. This position reports to the Operations Manager.Summary of Essential Job Functions/ResponsibilitiesPrepares production equipment for operation by making equipment setup adjustments; assisting with equipment changeoversMaintains quality standards and customer specifications by conducting first-piece and in-process inspection; completing production control charts; analyzing recordings and making equipment adjustmentsHelps train others for production job responsibilities by demonstrating operational proceduresMaintains production line operation by solving production process problems; making equipment adjustments; reporting production and quality data; reporting decisions made; referring questions to the supervisorMaintains production operations by following policies and procedures (equipment, raw and in-process materials, and finished goods); reporting needed changesEnsures operation of equipment by following preventative maintenance policies and procedures; reporting needed changes and repairsMaintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulationsContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed through cooperation with team members and acceptance of re-assignments as directed by supervisorsOther duties as assignedPreferred Education and/or Experience2+ years experience in a team, line lead or supervisory position within an industrial and/or distribution environment1+ years experience in a metal service centerHigh School diploma or GED; or one to 3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceStrong leadership skills with the ability to lead, instruct, and guide othersSuperior problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressureAbility to manage changing priorities and multiple tasksMust be reliable and punctualAbility to effectively communicate with peopleAbility to read and interpret data and draw valid conclusionsEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
