Finance Estimator

Cost Analyst monitors and controls project spending, develops forecasts and reports, and ensures compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements to support project success. Works closely with project managers and leadership to identify cost variances and recommend mitigation measures.
Collaborate with project managers to track and monitor project spending

monitor contingency and project completion dates; Review project costs for compliance with regulatory and company guidelines, ensuring proper GAAP and FERC classification

Report and analyze significant cost variances, trends, and irregularities, documenting primary drivers

Calculate and research accurate project accruals; Write AFE/PRN and monitor the review and approval process

Develop ancillary and ad-hoc reports for OSG KPI and data requests; Participate in occasional special projects, including on-site support

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Engineering, or applicable experience

Strong aptitude in financial and cost areas related to project cost controls and a solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles

Highly competent with Microsoft Excel

Demonstrated ability to anticipate and balance needs of multiple stakeholders while managing multiple projects with competing deadlines

Exceptional communication skills, including ability to create and maintain productive relationships with teammates and internal customers

Experience working with project managers in cost control, forecasting, accruals, and report creation

Familiarity with Lawson or other ERP system to assist in data analysis

Occasional overtime required to meet critical deadlines and handle special project assignments

You have strong Excel expertise and GAAP knowledge. Experienced in project cost forecasting and variance analysis.
