Financial Management & Comptroller

A leading global logistics and freight forwarding company is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee finance operations across the Americas region, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil.

This leadership position combines the responsibilities of a Finance Manager and Financial Controller, providing oversight and support to local Finance Managers, external accounting partners, and third-party financial service providers. The successful candidate will initially manage a team of four direct reports and play a key role in driving financial accuracy, compliance, reporting, and operational excellence throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities Lead financial operations, accounting controls, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis across multiple countries throughout the Americas region.

Partner closely with operations, procurement, pricing, and business leadership teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition, expense management, and financial reporting.

Review financial transactions, accounting entries, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and local accounting requirements.

Oversee accounts receivable, collections, cash flow management, and credit control activities.

Monitor revenue and expense recognition to ensure transactions are accurately recorded and aligned with negotiated customer and vendor agreements.

Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Prepare and analyze financial performance against budget, identifying key variances and providing recommendations to leadership.

Oversee invoicing, tax compliance, regulatory reporting, and financial controls across multiple jurisdictions.

Ensure accurate reconciliation of bank accounts, vendor statements, customer accounts, and payment processing systems.

Review payroll, commission calculations, and operating expenses to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Manage relationships with external CPAs, auditors, banking partners, and other financial service providers.

Collaborate with regional and global leadership teams to provide financial insights that support business growth and operational performance.

Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, local regulations, and internal control requirements.

Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

Proven experience in financial management, accounting, and reporting within the freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation industry.

S. accounting standards and multi-country financial operations.

Experience supporting finance operations across multiple legal entities and international locations.

Experience managing financial teams within a matrixed global organization.

Fluency in English is required. Mandarin Chinese language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.

Advanced proficiency with financial systems, Microsoft Excel, and reporting tools.

Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet critical month-end, quarter-end, and year-end deadlines.
