Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care for a patient or assigned group using established standards, the nursing process, and clinical judgment
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care; monitor patient condition and respond to changes in acuity
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures; monitor effects and document care
• Supervise and coordinate activities of various levels of nursing staff and support personnel
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other disciplines; participate in discharge planning and patient education
• Document accurately in the electronic health record; communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team

Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of practice (California)
• BLS/CPR certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum of two years of recent ER/acute care nursing experience
• BSN degree preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Ability to work in a high-acuity emergency department environment and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team
