Nurse Paralegal-Remote

A well-established Midwest law firm is seeking an experienced Nurse Paralegal to join its busy healthcare litigation team in Chicago.
This position offers a unique opportunity to combine clinical expertise with legal support work in a collaborative, team-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have healthcare litigation experience, strong organizational skills, and a nursing background in ER, Med-Surg, Neuro, Cardiac/Telemetry, Oncology, or Surgery/ICU settings.

Responsibilities
Review and summarize medical records for attorneys
Prepare detailed medical chronologies
Apply clinical knowledge and nursing judgment to healthcare cases
Research medical issues and expert witnesses
Assist with case strategy development
Organize electronic and physical case files and support litigation functions
Manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years of experience in a healthcare-focused litigation practice preferred
• Nursing experience in ER, Med-Surg, Neuro, Telemetry/Cardiac, Oncology, or Surgery/ICU required
• Insurance defense experience preferred
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
