Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic CNC Machinist who is fueled by high accountability, execution horsepower, and driven to understand our world, science/technology, and life itself, for the benefit of all on Earth and beyond.Position SummarySince Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy CNC Machinist, responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling and turning centers to produce components that meet stringent aerospace standards. This role requires expert knowledge of multi-axis machining, tight-tolerance work, and experience with a variety of materials. A successful candidate excels at interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T requirements, performing in-process inspections, troubleshooting machining issues, maintaining equipment and tooling, and ensuring compliance with AS9100 and quality management system standards.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesSet-up and operation of multi-axis CNC mills and lathesUnderstanding speeds and feeds, chip load, and other fundamental aspects of machiningUsing hand tools, power tools, and machines to fabricate componentsManufacturing products from a variety of raw materials, including metal, plastic, and compositesMaintenance and troubleshooting of equipmentHeavy lifting and handling of partsOperating shop equipment, such as drill presses, band saws, grinders, and pallet trucksCollaborating with design, engineering, and production teams to develop manufacturing projectsAdhering to safety guidelines and shop protocolsCommunicating project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadershipImplementing and maintaining agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecyclePerform additional job duties as assignedQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
