HR Generalist/Employee Relations/Payroll

BNO, a dynamic, full-service creative marketing, advertising & public relations agency headquartered in Somerville, NJ, with offices in Philadelphia, PA and St. Petersburg, FL, is looking for a highly motivated Human Resources professional to support and grow our people operations. This role focuses heavily on working with and through others, building and maintaining relationships, and ensuring compliance with established HR policies and regulations. Attention to detail is critical, as this role involves managing employee records, payroll, benefits, compliance reporting, and HR processes. Support recruitment, posting positions on internal and external platforms, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and onboarding new hires

Administer, audit, and maintain I-9 records and other regulatory documentation

Assist with payroll and benefits administration, including verifying employee data and supporting open enrollment activities

Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with federal, multi-state, and local employment laws

Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies and procedures

Assist with employee relations, performance management documentation, ADA accommodations, and workers’ compensation claims

Support HR audits, reporting, and compliance activities

Assist in maintaining PTO policies, tracking balances, and updating payroll/time systems

Participate in HR initiatives, diversity certifications, and other organizational programs as needed

2–4 years of experience in HR, operations, administrative, or related support roles

Experience working with HRIS and/or payroll systems (Paychex experience a plus)

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Familiarity with compliance audits and HR best practices
