Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgery - Night Shift

Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg / TelemetryMinimum Years of Experience: 2 years with 1 Year of direct MedSurg experience. Traveler Experience: Unit WILL NOT Accept 1st Time Travelers (Must have at least 2 successful contracts before applying) Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes Skills: IV Start and Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias and Management of dysrhythmias, Med/Surg neuro EXPERIENCE Certs: BCLS, NIH, NIHSS, ACLS (preferred, not required)RATIOS: 1:6. Unit will accept contracts for 13-26 weeks. Unit will accept 36h or 48 hrs. SHIFT: 12HR NIGHTS If RTO includes weekends, time will be added to end of contract to make up for those dates. Travelers are required to work every other weekend. Floating Required: Floating required to any other MS/Tele areas, may include COVID care units. If the traveler calls in for a scheduled weekend shift, we will need to have them make up the weekend shifts based on the needs of the unit. Frequent floating may be required.PATIENT DIAGNOSES: We care primarily for Stroke patients, but also care for possible Neurosurgery patients as well as other Neuro diagnoses, such as Epilepsy, Traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, and many more SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: We have a 4 BED Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). The unit trains our nurses for the EMU part and it does not typically affect our travelers unless we have trained them. 42 daily census. 43 rooms/beds UNIT SYSTEMS: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR SCHEDULING TYPE: Preferred Scheduling *If a traveler calls out of a shift, they are expected to make up that day the same week or at the end of their contract.
