American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Stepdown/PCU position requiring cardiac drip titration experience and a WA or compact RN license in hand.

Details

Stepdown/PCU unit in a short term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center teaching hospital

Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)

Patient ratios of 1:4-5

Every other weekend required

No on-call requirements

May float to Tele or Med-Surg floors if overstaffed, with priority given to travelers

May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted site

Epic charting system used

Requirements

Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

Minimum of 1 year of stepdown or PCU nursing experience required

Cardiac drip titration and management experience is a hardstop requirement

Epic charting experience required

Teaching hospital experience preferred

Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

Manage patients with cardiac telemetry, respiratory, renal, neurological, and gastrointestinal needs

Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams

Skills include central/peripheral/PICC line care, IV therapy, wound care, and insulin drip titration

Scrub color for RNs is any color

No parking fee at this facility

Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Candidates may choose one holiday off between Thanksgiving or Christmas, but not both

Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must not live within 50 miles of the facility

Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate

Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for standard travel bill rate
