HR Generalist - Benefits & Operations
Schedule: Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite
A mission-driven organization is seeking an HR Generalist to join its growing Human Resources team. This position will have a strong focus on benefits administration and leave management while also supporting a broad range of HR functions throughout the employee lifecycle.
Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, FSA, HSA, and wellness programs.
Manage new hire enrollments, qualifying life events, and annual open enrollment.
Maintain accurate benefits and employee information within the organization's HR/payroll systems.
Administer leaves of absence, including FMLA, state family and medical leave programs, ADA accommodations, military leave, bereavement, and personal leave.
Maintain confidential leave records and documentation.
Coordinate and lead new hire orientation, including HR policies, benefits, and time-off information.
Coordinate onboarding logistics, paperwork, system access, and required training.
General HR Support
Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records and HR system data.
Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and programs.
Assist managers with employee relations and policy-related questions.
Support performance management, employee engagement, and retention initiatives.
Assist with employment verifications, audits, reporting, and other HR administrative needs.
Prepare HR and benefits reports and assist with analyzing trends.
Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and HR information.
Vendor & Project Support
Serve as a point of contact for benefit carriers, brokers, retirement plan administrators, and other external vendors.
Participate in HR projects, process improvements, and system implementations.
Provide additional HR support as needed.
2+ years of HR Generalist or related HR experience, with hands-on benefits and/or leave administration experience.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, confidential employee records.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Experience working with an HRIS/payroll system preferred.
