Mechanical Engineer 2 | 24-Month Contract | East Peoria, IL

Are you a Mechanical Engineer with experience in product design, CAD modeling, and mechanical components? We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer 2 to support a drivetrain component design team responsible for parts used across a wide range of heavy equipment platforms.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to large-scale mechanical systems while working alongside experienced engineers on critical drivetrain components that are foundational to machine performance.

Temporary assignment in Mossville, IL through February 2027

Schedule: Monday through Friday, first shift
Duration: 24-month contract
On-site position
No travel required
Safety equipment provided; Support senior engineers with mechanical design and engineering tasks
Create and modify 3D models and components using Creo
Perform stress and life analysis on drivetrain components
Assess casting designs and part nonconformance risks
Research, design, develop, and test mechanical products and systems
Analyze engineering specifications, technical data, and customer requirements
Investigate component and equipment failures to identify root causes
Support product development, manufacturing, quality, and supplier activities
Assist with engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline

• 2-4 years of mechanical engineering experience
• Experience with mechanical design and product development
• Proficiency with Creo 3D modeling
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, prints, and schematics
• Manufacturing, automotive, or heavy equipment experience

Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude
Work on components used across multiple machine platforms
Gain exposure to casting design, stress analysis, and drivetrain systems
Partner with experienced engineers, suppliers, manufacturing teams, and quality organizations
