Security Officers - Night Shift

As part of a small, hardworking, and accomplished team, you will be responsible for ensuring and maintaining security at the Rocket Park, FL. This includes access control, special events support, and emergency response.

Responsibilities Perform responsibilities as identified by Security Management and Security Officer Lead in the conduct of guard posts, control access to the site via Visitor Management System, respond to inquiries and issues at guard posts, understand and execute all post orders assigned to guard position.

Support special events, emergent activities and ad hoc assignments as identified and assigned by Security Management.

Understand and comply with Blue Origin badging policies in order to properly categorize and appropriately issue visitor badges as required.

Respond to emergency situations (fire/medical/suspicious person/etc.).

Execute roving patrols as assigned.

Must be willing and able to work flexible schedule, including nights, overtime, weekends and rotating.

Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.

State security officer license or eligible for one.

Valid driver’s license.

Ability and willingness to occasionally stand in a static position for extended periods.

Exceptional customer service and communication skills.

Can work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat.

Capable of climbing stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift.

Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time.

Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

U.S. citizenship or national, permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted refugee/asylum.

Desired Associate’s degree.

2+ years experience in military, law enforcement, or corporate security.

Aptitude for critical incident handling.

CPR/First Aid certification.

Computer proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office.

Extensive team-oriented experience.

Impeccable character/integrity.

Ability to de‑escalate disputes and/or conflicts.

Background and Security Requirements All positions require a Blue’s Standard Background Check. Certain job profiles require DBIDS background check if at any time the role requires on a military installation. Drivers operating commercial motor vehicles over 10,001 lbs or transporting hazardous materials may be subject to additional FMCSA requirements, including driver qualification files, medical certification, road tests, hours of service, drug and alcohol testing, CDL requirements, and hazardous materials training. Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential is also required for certain job profiles, including pre‑employment and random drug testing, as well as DOT physical.
