Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a PCU Float position requiring at least 1 year of experience and a GA or compact RN license.
Details
Float pool position covering MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units within a hospital setting
Adult to geriatric patient population
Patient ratios of 1:4-5 on PCU and 1:5-6 on MS/MS Tele units
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Every other weekend required, averaging 6 weekends in a 13-week contract
Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems
No on-call requirements
Floating required to all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units within the hospital
Requirements
Active GA or compact RN license
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience
Epic charting experience required
Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
Experience with arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
Competent in BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator care, chest tube management, and high flow nasal cannula
Skilled in tracheostomy care and non-invasive airway management
Experience with feeding tube care and heparin protocols
Able to manage cardiac and vasoactive drips and PCA
Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Experience with on-unit and remote telemetry monitoring
Familiar with rapid response and code team protocols
Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
Experience with wound care and wound vac management
Skilled in IV insulin protocols and titration
Experience with renal failure and surgical drain management
Navy blue scrub color required
Additional Information
Provide nursing care across multiple medical-surgical and telemetry-based units as part of a float pool team
Requires flexibility with scheduling and unit assignments
Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
