Human Resources Assistant

Provides administrative support to the Human Resources department.

Responsibilities:

• Verify new hire information and process to Viewpoint
• Manually updated Viewpoint with employee information not automatically transferred from onboarding system
• Ensure all required documentation is added to employee file
• Process all new hires in OESC New Hire system
• Process required DOT employment verification post-orientation
• Maintain drug testing records in viewpoint (in-office and McBride)
• Process all DOT and Non-DOT Employment
• Track safety training as received for each employee, including new hire training and job-site orientation verification

~ Process weekly reports:

• 401k deferrals and loans
• DOT Expirations

Enter all new hires into Fidelity

Monitor DOT Random Drug Testing

Enter direct deposit and pay card information

Mail monthly benefit enrollment packets

Update employee files with personal information changes as needed

Answer HR line calls

Act as back-up for all company phone lines

Act as back up for assisting walk-in applicants and collecting recruiting paperwork

Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

High attention to detail

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

Ability to work in fast-paced, quickly changing environments

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous staffing industry experience

HR Degree or equivalent

Previous experience working in a HR Department

Bilingual (Spanish)
