Shift: Full-Time 3x12s, day and/or night shifts as scheduled
Hours per Shift: 12 hours
Experience: 1-2 years in customer service and/or health-related experience in medical-surgical, emergency department, or intensive care unit settings
High school graduate or equivalent education
Post-secondary education in health or human services

• Basic knowledge of healthcare and/or nursing assistant role
• Computer literacy and strong interpersonal skills

The Nursing Assistant performs various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary to address the personal needs and comfort of patients in an environment that promotes dignity and healing.

The role includes performing vital signs and activities of daily living as outlined in the plan of care, inclusive of assistance with activities of daily living.

Assists with hourly rounding and documents care rendered per guidelines.

Meets nutrition needs of patients as outlined in the plan of care, and in accordance with policies and procedures.

Responsible for meal delivery, setting up trays and adaptive equipment, assisting with feeding, and distributing nourishments while honoring patient choices.

Ensures proper documentation per policy, protocol, and procedure.

Maintains patient comfort and safety as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures.

Turns and positions patients, provides skin care, and promptly responds to call lights and alarms.

Assures rehabilitation needs are met as outlined in the care plan, including range of motion exercises, ambulation, transfers, and proper body alignment using assistive devices.

Documents rehabilitation activities per established guidelines.

Participates effectively in shift change communication, providing complete and relevant information about the patients in their care.

Exemplifies the principles of a healing environment by ensuring safety, promoting dignity and respect, and fostering healthy relationships.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.

Possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs.
