We are seeking an experienced PreOp/PACU Charge Nurse who can work in Pre-Op and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This role is vital in ensuring the highest quality of perioperative care for our patients, contributing significantly to our mission of delivering exceptional orthopedic services.
Direct and coordinate nursing activities in PreOp and PACU, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and skill mix for scheduled orthopedic case volumes.
Serve as the clinical resource and on-floor supervisor for RN, LPN, and patient care technician staff throughout the shift.
Mentor and support nursing staff, particularly those new to ambulatory orthopedic care.
Monitor and manage patients recovering from general, regional, and neuraxial anesthesia, with expertise in pain management for orthopedic postoperative patients.
Provide thorough discharge instructions with emphasis on orthopedic-specific precautions, wound care, DVT prophylaxis, weight-bearing status, and follow-up care.
Oversee proper medication management, including controlled substance handling and documentation per DEA and facility policy.
Conduct and document daily environmental safety rounds and equipment inspections.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Kansas, in good standing.
Minimum of 3 years of perioperative nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an ambulatory surgery or outpatient setting preferred.
Experience in PreOp and/or PACU nursing required; 6 company paid holidays
