Sustaining Mechanical Engineer $73,000–$83,000

We're seeking a Sustaining Mechanical Engineer to own the technical health, reliability, and lifecycle performance of our released drilling equipment. You'll bridge field reality and product evolution, turning customer issues, manufacturing feedback, and operational data into meaningful engineering improvements.

Own engineering support for released products from release through end of life
Triage and resolve field, customer, and manufacturing issues; Serve as a rapid-response technical resource for Field Service, dealers, customers, and the production floor
Create 3D models and detailed drawings to company standards, and perform testing to validate designs
Initiate and drive ECRs/ECOs, maintaining configuration control across product families
Use warranty, failure, and field data to identify systemic issues and drive reliability and cost-reduction improvements
Serve as the primary technical link between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Field Service
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent as deemed sufficient)

• 5+ years of mechanical design and/or sustaining engineering experience in heavy equipment, industrial machinery, or capital equipment manufacturing
• Strong structural design skills: weldments, load path and stress analysis, fatigue, and welded joint design (AWS D1.Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and controls systems
• Solid understanding of welding, machining, fabrication, and assembly processes
• Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD, plus FEA capability (SOLIDWORKS Simulation or equivalent)
• Drilling equipment experience, hands-on field exposure, and PDM/PLM and ERP experience
