Estimator - Construction Subcontractor

A respected and growing construction organization in Redmond, WA is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator for a direct hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an estimator who enjoys taking ownership of the preconstruction process, developing accurate budgets, and helping residential, commercial, office, and general construction projects move from concept to successful execution.

Review construction drawings, architectural plans, specifications, and project documents to evaluate scope and estimating requirements.

• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and prepare estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overall project costs.
• Develop competitive bids, proposals, budgets, pricing analyses, and cost comparisons for upcoming construction projects.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain pricing, compare bids, and support accurate project forecasting.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, clients, and leadership to identify project risks, clarify scope, and recommend cost-effective solutions.
• Maintain estimating records, historical pricing, templates, and cost databases while updating estimates based on design changes and market conditions.

Prepare detailed construction estimates, budgets, and bid packages for residential, commercial, office, and general construction projects.

• Manage quantity takeoffs, pricing analysis, subcontractor bid reviews, and cost comparisons.
• Support preconstruction planning, value engineering, scope clarification, and project cost analysis.
• Partner with internal teams and external project stakeholders to deliver accurate and competitive estimates.
• Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, plans, and project documents.
• Strong understanding of labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and project cost estimating.
• Ability to prepare accurate takeoffs, budgets, proposals, and bid documents.
• Experience coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, project managers, architects, and engineers.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage changing project requirements, pricing updates, and deadlines.
• Professional communication skills and the ability to build productive working relationships across project teams.

Experience estimating both residential and commercial construction projects.

• Familiarity with preconstruction planning, value engineering, and cost database management.
• Ability to identify project risks, clarify scope gaps, and recommend practical cost-saving solutions.
