RN Hospital / Emergency Department Nights

Registered Nurse – Psychiatric Emergency Room
Schedule: Straight nights, 48 hours/week. Holidays, on-call, callback, and charge per unit as needed.
Assignment Details: No telemetry required.
Requirements:

New York RN License
BLS Certification (AHA)
Minimum 2 years of experience
Responsibilities:

Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history.
Plan and provide nursing care for patients.
Make nursing diagnoses of the medical and emotional status of patients and recommend treatment options.
Consult with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff to design appropriate treatment plans for clients.
Administer and document reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications.
Assist clients in understanding the nature of emotional disturbances and the need for treatment.
Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.
Document all patient information on medical charts, following physician's written orders, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
