New Checkr Survey Reveals 90% of Workers Willing to Switch Jobs for Better Pay

New Checkr Survey Reveals 90% of Workers Willing to Switch Jobs for Better Pay

Checkr, a prominent HR technology company, has released its first data report entitled “Stay or Go: Americans Share Hopes and Fears About 2023 Job Market,” providing insights into the current state of the job market and the attitudes of employees. The report, based on a recent survey of 3,500 American workers, indicates that 90% of respondents would consider changing jobs if they were offered better pay, while 77% are actively searching or considering a job search in 2023. Despite the economic uncertainty, unemployment rates in the United States are at near-record lows, with workers showing a relentless drive for career advancement.

According to Lindsey Scrase, Chief Revenue Officer at Checkr, the survey confirms that workers are prioritizing their financial well-being, and companies must focus on new strategies to retain their top performers. The report also highlights how employee attitudes towards job searches have shifted due to market tensions. Three-quarters of respondents are uncertain or agree that a recession would negatively impact a job search in 2023. When asked how long they would wait before beginning another job search, 25% indicated that there was no minimum time required, while only 19% said they would wait a year.

The survey was conducted over two days and collected data from a survey of 3,500 adult Americans via the survey platform Pollfish, using age and employment filters to identify respondents. The findings demonstrate that companies must find innovative ways to retain their employees in the face of shifting employee attitudes and heightened competition for top talent.
