Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Vent Experience Required)

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Weekend and holiday requirements apply

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a hybrid PCU/IMC unit managing a diverse patient population including DKA, COPD, sepsis, overdose/suicide, chronic respiratory failure, and renal failure
• Monitor and manage cardiac rhythms via telemetry, including dysrhythmia interpretation and emergency response including Rapid Response and Code team activation
• Administer IV therapy, blood products, and cardiac drips (non-titrating); maintain central and peripheral line care
• Provide ventilator care and respiratory support for chronic trach and vent-dependent patients
• Perform phlebotomy and medication administration in accordance with unit protocols
• Float within skillset as needed and adhere to isolation precautions across PCU, DOU, IMC, and stepdown settings

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia State RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending license accepted only for candidates holding a single-state license from a non-compact state)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
• Demonstrated experience with ventilator care and chronic trach patients
• Experience in a PCU, IMC, stepdown, or DOU setting
• Ability to meet weekend requirements (every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week block) and work at least one holiday per 13-week contract

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience in a PCU or stepdown environment
• Familiarity with remote telemetry monitoring and tele-sitting workflows
• Experience managing patients with DKA, COPD exacerbation, or chronic respiratory failure
