Work Environment

This role will be situated in our onsite hospital facility located in Brownsville, TX. As part of a collaborative team setting, PAs work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic and coordinated patient care. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough medical assessments of patients to identify acute and chronic health issues, including a complete medical history and physical examination.
• Diagnose health conditions and create comprehensive care plans in collaboration with physicians, while also managing follow-up treatments and referrals to specialists as necessary.
• Administer treatments, prescribe medications, and monitor patient responses per the established protocols and physician collaboration guidelines.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to accurately document patient visits, assessments, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards.
• Educate patients and their families about health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options, fostering a collaborative partnership in health management.
• Engage with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and facilitate referrals to additional health or social services, when needed.
• Supervise Medical Assistants and other support staff, ensuring that clinic protocols and high medical standards are rigorously followed.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients and staff alike.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant role is focused on serving a diverse patient population, including individuals from various socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities, and age groups. Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience in a primary care or outpatient setting.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant and a valid state PA license.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare laws, medical regulations, and ethical standards governing PA practice.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and colleagues.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, experience in family practice, pediatrics, or a similar field is preferred. Additionally, bilingual proficiency, particularly in English and Spanish, will be a valuable asset for engaging with our community effectively.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from USD 140,000 to 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
