Junior Accountant

Job Description Moto Race Tire Inc. is seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join its Financial Department in an entry‑level role designed for learning, growth, and hands‑on experience. This position will assist with daily accounting and administrative functions while developing practical skills in financial recordkeeping, transaction review, and business support. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists with compiling and reviewing financial information used to prepare account entries and document business transactions. Classifies and records expenditures, receipts, receivables, and related transactions according to company procedures. Assists with maintaining records in accordance with company procedures and basic accounting principles. Collects appropriate data and prepares state sales tax returns under the direction of the Controller. Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions. Balances account spreadsheets; matches and defines discrepancies between payments and amounts billed in system. Supports employment verifications and payroll‑related deductions, including child support and Franchise Tax Board deductions, as needed. Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed; totals accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets and databases. Prepares invoices, checks, timecards, and other records and reviews for accuracy. Sorts and distributes internal and external mail. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four‑year university in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience with or ability to learn the following systems Accounting Software (QuickBooks) Database Software (Access) Internet Software Payroll Systems Spreadsheet Software (Excel) Human Resource Systems Inventory Software (CIN7) Order Processing Systems (Shopify) Word Processing Software (Word) Electronic Mail Software (Outlook) Presentation software (PowerPoint) Other skills required Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting procedures, including familiarity with GAAP. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify numerical discrepancies. Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and prioritization skills. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Flexible, dependable, and willing to assist with a variety of accounting and administrative tasks.
